Long but scenic 10-hour drive through the Teesta Valley to the gateway of Kangchenjunga.

Taplejung to Khesewa (1,700m)

Begin trekking along the Tamur River through subtropical forest and terraced fields.

Read Before You Book

Extreme Difficulty
This is our most challenging trek. Previous high-altitude experience above 5,000m is mandatory. Excellent fitness required.
Remote Location
This is a truly remote trek with no road access. Helicopter evacuation is difficult. Self-sufficiency is important.
Camping
Several nights are spent in tents. We provide all camping equipment, but you need a very warm sleeping bag.

How remote is it?
Very. The trailhead is a 10-hour drive from Kathmandu. Once on the trail, you're 5-6 days from the nearest road.
What permits are needed?
Kanchenjunga Conservation Area Permit and a special restricted area permit. We arrange both.
Is solo trekking allowed?
No, this trek requires a group and licensed guide due to its remote and restricted status.
